Energy Kinesiology (En.K.) is the blanket name given to the kinesiological arts that grew mostly out of Touch For Health, and are based on the use of muscle monitoring/testing. En.K. programs are available to lay people — the general public — as well as health professionals. This differs from Applied Kinesiology, which remains in the realm of chiropractic and is not available to lay people. People who are schooled in several types of lay kinesiologies, such as Touch for Health, IWFT and the Holographic Explorer, often refer to themselves as Energy Kinesiologists. This is a relatively recently adopted name, coined by Donna Eden, author of Energy Medicine. In may parts of the world, the older term of Specialized Kinesiology is used by practitioners.
